Our dedicated and friendly team are here to offer guidance to officers and their families, with advice on ways to access financial assistance and practical support.
ROSE ATKINSON-PARK
Senior Grant & Welfare Manager
Having graduated from The University of Kent, Rose worked for Westminster Social Services and national charity, Turn2us. Rose later moved to the Grants team at Macmillan Cancer Support, working with Macmillan Nurses and the press to raise awareness of the charity’s support services.
Rose has a keen interest in the science of behaviour and mind and enjoys supporting people in her role as Grants and Welfare Manager at the OABF.
BRIDGET GALLAGHER
Grants & Welfare Manager
Bridget worked as Deputy Manager for SSAFA’s Stepping Stone Scheme before joining The Royal British Legion Grants Team, moving onto the Specialist Disability Team as Disability Coordinator and finally National Lead for Independent Living.
Bridget joined the OABF in 2016 as Grant’s & Welfare Manager and recently took over the additional role of OABF Honorary Representative Support Manager.
Georgina Walters
Grant & Welfare Manager
Georgina has worked within the charity sector for 18 years working with a wide range of client groups including people who are street homeless and those within the criminal justice system. She has worked as a housing specialist, a resettlement caseworker in prisons, a debt and welfare benefits advisor in busy local Citizens Advice Bureaus and joined Turn2US as a Granta manager for six years.
Georgina joined the OABF as a Grant & Welfare Manager in 2015. In 2020 she spent two years working with the OABF Membership Team before returning to the OABF Grant &Welfare Team in 2022.
VAJIRA ZEGHLI
Grants & Welfare Co-Ordinator
Before joining the OABF as a Grants & Welfare Coordinator in 1997, Vajira worked in the employment sector of a career consultancy firm.
She works closely with the OABF’s Honorary Representatives and the Grants and Welfare Managers, and enjoys dancing in her leisure time to keep fit.
LEONA GOULBOURNE
Grants & Welfare Manager
Leona studied for a degree in Business and Law. She spent 10 years at the Royal Borough Kensington and Chelsea Council and taking on various positions within Housing and Health services.
Leona has worked for the OABF for four years and remains passionate about supporting people when they need it most.
AMANDA MUHAMMAD
Grants & Welfare Co-Ordinator
Amanda is a Grants and Welfare Coordinator with years of experience in administration. She worked as an Admin Assistant for the Regular Forces Employment Association (RFEA) before joining the team in June 2005.
Amanda works closely with our Grants and Welfare Managers and enjoys engaging with beneficiaries and Honorary Representatives.
