2022 was a year characterised by momentous events, the most memorable of which was undoubtedly the death in September of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, our gracious patron throughout her long reign and a Life Member of the Officers’ Association (OABF) since 1948. It was also a year in which we underwent what I consider to have been the most substantial change the OABF has experienced since that brought about by reaching the funding agreement with the Royal British Legion (RBL) in 1921; change driven, ironically, by the decision made in 2019 to end that same arrangement.
